AN UPDATE! (NOVEMBER 22nd)

Hello everyone! Once again I would like to thank you on behalf of the Creche Tio Manoel Vieira for your generous support. The $2,120.00 raised through my campaign, along with Jose Carlos de Almeida's campaign in Brazil, led not only to a new roof to replace the old collapsed one, but also to some much needed renovations throughout the Creche, including electrical rewiring, a new paint job, and the construction of a computer laboratory that previously did not exist. On September 15, 2014, the Creche Tio Manoel Vieira received the funds. Construction began soon after. The roof was completed and the photos were sent to me on November 1, 2014. Oi, pessoal! Mais uma vêz quero agradecer a todos, em nome da Creche Tio Manoel Vieira, pelo apoio generoso que recebemos. O total de $2,120.00 que foi angariado através da minha campanha aqui no Canadá, junto com a campanha de Carlos Almeida no Brasil foi suficiente – não somente para reconstruir o teto da Creche, mas também para implementar outros consertos necessários no prédio, tal qual instalação elétrica, nova pintura nas paredes e a criação de um laboratório de computadores que não existia antes. O dinheiro enviado do Canadá foi entregue no dia 15 de setembro de 2014 e a construção iniciada imediatamente. O telhado foi reconstruído, os trabalhos finalizados e novas fotos me chegaram às mãos no dia primeiro de novembro de 2014. Tire um minuto para olhar a nova vitória da Creche Tio Manoel Vieira!


AN UPDATE! (SEPTEMBER 22, 2014)

Thank you to everyone who donated! We raised a grand total of $2,120.00!

This sum raised is equivalent to R$4,430.34 in Brazilian currency.

The $2,120.00 in donations was sent directly to the Creche Tio Manoel Vieira's bank account on September 9, 2014, and on September 15, 2014, the donations were successfully received!

Along with the donations collected from my campaign, the President of the Creche Tio Manoel Vieira, Jose Carlos de Almeida, also received some monetary donations as well as a large donation of roofing supplies!

Our efforts combined made the goal of a new roof for the Creche Tio Manoel Vieira possible, and for this reason, I am thrilled to say that the rebuilding of the roof has officially begun! Please stay tuned for pictures of the new roof!

What's this all about?

The Creche Tio Manoel Vieira (Uncle Manuel Care Centre) in Paulista, Brazil, had their roof collapse on them recently. This Care Centre looks after homeless, hungry and partially-abandoned children who would otherwise be without food.

Unfortunately, they don't have the money to pay for a new roof, which would only cost $3000. Here in Vancouver, BC, Canada, we are hoping to raise enough money to help them build a roof.
