STEP
2:
The Text
Most
comic creators, it seems, put the text into their panels
last.
Myself, I use a LOT of text on a regular basis. So I always
put the text first. I don't spend a lot of time laying panels
out. I simply write the text in, and then draw bubbles around
it, and then the panels sort of fall in wherever they go.
I ALWAYS do the text straight in pen. I never use lines
or bother with fancy ways of spacing the text. I eyeball
it.
If I make a spelling mistake, I glue a piece of paper over
the error and rewrite it, or I fix the error digitally.
Bold words are done by drawing overtop of the existing letters.
Letters are written in a regular Papermate black pen. Nothin'
fancy.
As you can see, there are OFTEN changes (sometimes drastic
ones) between the script and the final text in the comic.
